So exactly who is helping who?

While my very good friend David was chatting the other day at the market with our cashier she said to him; “You are in Network Marketing?  In this economy!  What are you crazy?”

David’s response was noteworthy of posting in this Ezine.

David smiled at the middle aged cashier whose husband had lost his job after 17 years at the same firm, and asked her what he had done for a living.  She proudly told us that her husband was a very well connected Marketing executive in Manhattan, and assured us that he would be back to work within the year. 

As a matter of fact, the only reason that she took a cashiering job was to give him space to find another job, and so she could bring in some extra money.  So, instead of David asking for her husband’s name and number as a lead, he asked her if her husband was the mentoring helpful type.  After a brief story of his involvement with the local boys club, and president of their parish, we quickly got the picture. David then asked her if perhaps her husband would mind mentoring her into a 6 figure income working from home, using less than the 40 hours a week she is now working as a cashier. She smiled at us, and said that her husband Robert would be much better suited at that sort of thing than she would.  Shortly thereafter she had the details of David’s family life and not only asked David for his contact information but invited him and his wife over for coffee that Saturday afternoon.  I look forward to hearing how this all comes out, at the very least David and his wife may have made friends with a very nice couple.  Sometimes you never know!
